head canon i would see RD as pansexual. but i chose her because she is often seen as a good advocate from the fandom for non straight fans.
I disagree with your headcanons. I can see where you’re coming from that Rainbow would care more about the person than the gender, but I very strongly disagree with the idea of her being promiscuous or anything like that, which you seem to be implying to some extent or another. She’s the element of loyalty, and she obviously cares a lot about deep and meaningful bonds with her friends and loved ones, so I’m quite sure that she’d be the type for a nice, happy, lifelong marriage with the one she cares about.
For that matter, and forgive me if I’m just misinterpreting, but why do you seem to be equating bisexuality with promiscuity? A bisexual person can just as easily be into long-term commitment as any other sexuality. It’s certainly not something that’s exclusive to people who are either straight or homosexual.
the adorable thing is is that you think we give one fuck that haters will be ass mad they cant oppress us.
Exactly.
My friend did not propagade nothing, but yet he got 1 year because he had gay porn folder in his notebook. The co-worker was not even investigated for invading someone’s privacy!
Getting a little tired of your propaganda (tell me, how well does Putin pay? If you’re not getting those sweet Rubles, you really need to move to Moscow to capitalize on your talent), actually glad you managed to cross the line on two different rules.
As for everyone in general, please note the amount of deleted comments and the likelihood that if you start insulting people or trying to start up a flamewar you’ll be banned.
I don’t believe this. Even organisers of those parades don’t get jailed, but arrested yes, for 15 days or so, because the majority of population don’t support such propoganda here. LGBT people can be too annoying, just like pony fans, putting pony stuff everywhere before other people’s noses. The difference is, I don’t mind the latter stuff.
Tell that to my friend who got jailed 8 years ago because he had gay porn in his own personal laptop. He made a mistake that he forgot to lock his notebook with a password and a co-worker found his gay folder. After 1 year of jail he got released and then he moved to Warsaw. Do not tell me this not fucked-up.
When gays have been jailed in Russia? Or you are another one who didn’t ever read that russian law? It prohibits only propoganda for children in school and such. As they say, you can do whatever you want when no one sees, but you’ll be surely judged on streets, and this is not a surprise. So why don’t you put the gay pride flag in youknowwhere and go home to make love with your sweetie? I don’t care what gender your partner has.
That’s because people are afraid of the backlash that would come from sharing their opinions while showing their faces.
Frankly, I’m a bit annoyed that they feel the need to do that, primarily because it says some pretty unflattering things about how people behave when it comes to another person’s opinions. Disagreeing with someone, even vehemently, is more than fine, but I’ve noticed a rather disturbing trend where someone will have their name dragged through the mud for dissenting from the group’s opinion long, long after the discussion in question has ended.
Also, it’s 5 AM, so I should probably not be writing comments on a website where I can’t edit them. I’m sure this post will look like a train wreck to me when I’m more awake.
@VelvetInkwell
‘Gay cowboy’ is a far less common stereotype than ‘butch girl = lesbian’, though, and lots of people have expressed their distaste for the AJ/Mac pairing. The difference, as I see it, is that the incest thing is done purely because people ‘enjoy’ it, if I may use a bit of innuendo given the rating of this image, while the “Dash is a lesbian” thing springs entirely from stereotypes regarding gay women and automatically associates a series of colors with a lifestyle/sexual preference. So, it’s primarily the issue of people making assumptions that is galling most of the detractors, to get right down to it, as well as the fact that the AJ/Braeburn things are rather clearly done for the sake of fetishization rather than as a serious “Nonono they are OBVIOUSLY THIS WAY” sort of ‘headcanon’ thing. There are people who treat them that way, of course, but they are a very distinct minority, while Dash is often held up as a character who MUST be gay because of the colors of her mane and the fact that she is not classically feminine in her behavior.
So, uh… there you go! Honestly, I should really not be trying to articulate these things at such an ungodly hour, I’m sure I’ve made an absolute mess of it all.
If people were not such homophobic assholes and gays were not oppressed to the point of beign jailed for just admitting you are a gay (hi Russia)or getting your head crushed by rocks, then there would be no “gay propagadna” as you wrongfully used this term.
I’ve never even considered the thought of Dash being pan/bi before, honestly. I always imagined it with Pinkie though, I just can’t see her as someone who would at all care what sex/gender, species, anything anyone is, she makes friends with everyone, she wouldn’t be choosy with who she falls in love with. She just…does. Doesn’t have to be sexual either, probably more than likely isn’t.
But i’m getting into headcanon territory here.
When you read enough fan fiction, do enough writing and roleplaying as her, and ponder the character from the inside and out, you learn a couple of things. But thank you. I guess I’m just as sick as other people trying to argue she’s a lesbian. Although much rarer, I can also argue why her being straight is unlikely, due to her hanging around ponies who are in their physical peaks. You get enough hormones going, cider flowing, and be an open minded mare who would take up a dare or two, and soon enough she realized she likes everything pretty much. It just makes sense.
@Background Pony #FFC6
Pretty much the same thing I said above, and I feel sometimes I’m one of the few writers in the fandom who writes her straight down the middle bi/pan sexual. She, literally, doesn’t give two shits. Cool person? Nice ass? Fun to be with? Sex is possible. Simple as that. It doesn’t take rocket science to see her as someone who wouldn’t even think about the issue.
It’s just like I make the argument Twilight is also bi/pan sexual because she would love someone by their intellect and their heart, with what is between their legs completely irrelevant. The other four ponies can be written any way, I think.
Agreed, I’d totally be fine with seeing that in like a fanfic or something. Pansexual Dash is something I don’t see very often at all.
Now thats’s some well-thought-out reasoning for her orientation, as opposed to the “she’s a tomboy with rainbow hair, she’s gotta be gay” that I see all the time. Kudos.
