yeah, some monitors have different contrasts when it comes to blacks and whites, this is really dark on my cintiq, but quite clear on my monitor.  
The contrast between white and almost-white on the cintiq is high but the contrast between black and almost-black is very low, preferable for sketching, but not so much for things like this.
