The caption would work better if Bonbon’s parachute was open and she had to watch while Lyra fell helplessly below her. And damn you for making me imagine a scene like that.
 
Nope, parachute rescue is still in play and so is the LyraBon ship.

Lyra goes pancake and bonbon can dive and grab, then pull the parachute.  
The landing will be rougher than usual but they should survive
