If there’s anything I don’t understand, it’s how with certain episodes and, apparently, the comic, why we can’t just say “I didn’t like it (and here’s why)” and not take that extra step into “It’s bad (and I can prove it!)”
 
I find most of Season 1 to be boring as hell, but I’m not going to question how people managed to stay awake through it. I’m saving my outrage for when it really matters. Oh, it’s coming. I don’t know when, but it’s coming.

I was quoting you because you said you couldn’t understand why people didn’t like the episode. Writing characters contrary to their established personalities and quirks is BAD writing. It’s the kind of crap you would have seen in those old girl entertainment shows, where all characters were just one trait to an insane extreme.

While I no longer read the comics, I do enjoy the older issues and will say this in agreement with you: You want an example of how something being canon does not automatically make it good? The Mysterious Mare Do Well and Spike At Your Service, two of the most widely hated episodes in the show {If not THE most hated}, are canon. The latter even got referenced in Trade Ya!. Meanwhile, there are plenty of good fanfics {And some IDW comics} that are obviously non-canon. Whether or not something is canon doesn’t affect the quality of said work. So yes, “The comics aren’t canon!” is not a good criticism.

I don’t know why people give a shit about canon, it’s a fucking tv show, comic book and toy line, whatever you want to be canon is canon, what does it fucking matter.

Yes, IDW comics have made some screw ups in recent history, but the lion’s share of their stuff is actually quite good. You don’t like it, don’t read it, but stop acting like “not canon” is a legitimate criticism.

Well, FF series is usually not so bad, especially in comparison with latest main series… RD/Trixie and RD/Spitfire was really worth reading, and some of the others too!

surprised people still deal with this bullshit comic, its really only a illustrated fanfic. None of this is canon nor will it ever be. Most instances the show completely ignores it, so its just some dude making up stories that will never tie into the show for the one and only reason of snagging money. Yet tards out there will swear by the comics as canon.
