how can they be reformed if they are mush and food circulating in him? thats like if Im some magical unicorn monster and I eat a chicken and expect it to come back to life if “magic”. Only way they can stay alive is if he doesnt digest them or spit them out before it starts, and we wouldn’t want those two poor ponies to die now, huh?

Nah, that is not what it is here. Normally if you get eaten by a tatzlpony you are fine. But the potion he took has two effects, one, it nullifies any anti-digestion magic (including tatzl saliva) and two, it makes the prey reform.
That sounds cool. Tatzlpony digests them to perfectly examine them in this… well, unusual way (even for a tatzlpony) and then magically reforms them. And the cycle continues :D
