Oh yeah, that I’ll agree with.
Um that doesn’t follow.
Can we all agree that her behaviour was pretty shitheaded in S1, but got turned around in this episode in one of the more convincing ways we’ve seen in this show? As in, with the implication that it isn’t going to be instant, especially natural, or backed up with magic friendship talismans?
Because I’m liking the whole unintentional heroic rarrr against a literal fucking abyss (then pulling it back) thing way too much. Heroic portrayal this episode, you say?
Yeah, pretty much.
(And then turning her life around through choice and/or friendship speech back up top. There’s that too.)
I ain’t fucking dealing with this. Just enjoy the fucking worldbuilding and Griffons.
So, since Gilda saved Dash in this episode, it means she was a hero back during GtBO? Or did Pinkie Pie set up Dash being stranded on an outcropping of rock down a sheer cliff face?
>Where’d you get that from?
… This episode.
Suit yourself. (shrug)
Fair warning though, a lot of people on this site feed off the misery of Background Pony butthurt.
Gilda? A hero? Where do you get that from?
@this thread
Yeah, a perfectly acceptable reaction to someone being annoying is trying to kill them. And pranking the elderly is a sign of a healthy sense of humor.
Amen to that.
@Eclipse Flare
To be fair, Rainbow Dash only got to see the worst parts of Gilda’s attitude while Pinkie continued to mess things up pre-Cranky Doodle style when Dash wasn’t looking, including electrocuting her with a hand buzzer when Gilda actually accepted Pinkie’s handshake.
I’m definitely not excusing it completely, it was glaring for me as well… but from RD’s view, Gilda was in a bad mood and was rude to all her ponyville friends for no reason.
The element of honesty Pinkie ain’t. :/ I just goes to show simple-minded kindness and innocence can sometimes cause as much bad as it can good, especially with Pinkie’s attention span.
Besides, based on RD’s ‘fake insult filled with trust’ reaction when Gilda appeared, her real resentment towards Gilda was apparently only skin deep. Its hard for two firebrand heroes to make-up under the circumstances Pinkie had set up, but the second they had a chance, it showed they really were as thick as thieves, then AND now.
In 22 minutes, as well. It already covers quite a bit in the time available.
I really hope there’s a callback later making good on RD’s promise to visit.
While the kids show bit doesn’t excuse it, the limited run time does.
They had a pretty big story to tell, so they had to cut out any waste dialogue.
