Also it grows throughout the episode, just as Discord gets more jealous. He then locks it in the vault, hiding him as well as his emotions. When Discord got angry the Smooze attacked everyone, showing his true feelings. Finally, when Discord gets over his jealousy, he shrinks the Smooze down.
The Smooze really was a symbol of Discord’s jealousy.
This would probably be the time to reference that one dated meme.
Actually, I thought it was a Gak reference. But OP is probably right; the show is notorious for Visual Puns like this.
My point stands. They changed it to green because it makes more sense for slime to be green, whereas with G1 the animators in Korea probably had too much purple paint they didn’t know what to do with and just figured “Why not spend it on Smooze”.
The Smooze was originally purple, so making it green had to be a conscious decision and not just “eh we don’t care”.
