Ponies don’t have a taboo about being nude. However, like a lot of cartoon characters, they DO have a taboo against being seen dressing or undressing. That’s why Rarity’s boutique has screens for ponies to put outfits on or take them off behind, even though they may enter or leave the shop with nothing on.
In this case, Rarity was publicly disrobed, which would’ve been mortifying.
