Someone should invent the tag “The plot of the episode was misunderstood.”, but a feeling tells me the mods are going to remove that tag.  
Or an overly subjective-thinking person with the “argument” “All episodes… subjective… different interpretations… there is no right or wrong… yadda yadda yadda”…..
 
But one can try I guess…..

You’re thinking about it all wrong.  
Trouble is clumsy, it’s not special talent, not a gift given through his cutie mark, it’s just him and his cutie mark reflects that.  
He initially found that part of him as a curse until he applied it to another profession i.e. his talent as a clown.

I just think its sad to think that someponies special talent is being clumsy.
 
That’s as sad as having a special talent for getting sick… or sneezing.
 
 
Finding out what your special talent is should be about finding out what you like to do, and what you are good at.
 
But this pony seems to have a REALY bad case of cutie mark failure syndrome.

I get it now, his cutie mark trouble was because he was so focused on what he wasn’t talented for, he couldn’t/didn’t realize his true calling and accept it. When you don’t accept who you are…yeah, here’s your case in point.

I do believe that you missed both Luna’s point and the CMC’s point.  
(Luna) The cutie mark is a reflection of the self, it does not completely determinate nor dictate what you do with your life.  
Trouble wasn’t destined to be a rodeo clown, it’s just that being a Rodeo clown worked; it was one interpretation that worked. (CMC)

I dont think he really had bad luck.he’s clumsy so he interpreted it and convinced himself that it was bad luck because he lack self-confidence
