I lost my lucid dreaming skills some years ago. My record was 4 dreams in one night. I barely have any dreams these days :-(
If you are lucid-dreaming, perhaps, but I’ve no such skill. Granted, I don’t dream much anymore, let alone have nightmares, but I remember them when I was a kid.
And this scene captured that moment when the sense of reality in a dream falls apart and a thought passes you “crap, now I just have to endure it”.
It is actually possible to force yourself awake from a lucid dream. I speak from experience. Getting “trapped in” only happens in a fiction.
Actually, that just feels like my life, since I have face blindness I swear people are constantly getting face surgery and dying their hair color every time I look away for a few seconds
