If it’s any consolation, watch TNG Recuts. Wesley dies ALOT in it :)
RB and BB: Let’s fuck up everything that has been established about Vulcans! Mind melds are a taboo and are forbidden!
ENT took place one Vulcan generation before TOS, yet mind melds are used all the time in TOS, and had already been established as in integral part of their society.
@40kponyguy
The CG in that is very nice. I like how they got actual Star Trek actors to be in it.
I also like the Phase II thing that someone is doing. They have a nice-looking Enterprise that’s a cross between the original Enterprise and the refit Enterprise.
I actually met an American fan of Star Trek on my last visit to Warhammer World in Nottingham.
(Bear with me, this is relevant)
I kind of stole the show that day with my pony themed marine army, fighting a Hello Kitty themed force which had the Harbinger Bomber model here >>670569 to back it up.
The guy in question wanted the rules for said bomber model, so handed me a card, which I still have.
Turns out, he plays a major part in a pretty big budget fan movie, set before the original series, which is still on-going.
Looking forward to seeing how this turns out with the quality of the prequel.
Here’s a link to the prequel movie they’ve done.

The guy I met is called Alec Peters, who plays the part of ‘Captain Garth’ in the film.
True, he was the one who intended the Ferengi to be the bad ass successors OT the Klingons. That worked out well. But Berman and Braga’s track record after TNG and DS9 speaks for itself.
Honestly, Roddenberry himself did some pretty stupid stuff whenever he had full control.
They did their best to stay true to the originals without being overly obtrusive.
@BigBuggyBastage
Forgot about that one. Tuvok and EMH were the best things on Voyager. Brannon Braga is also responsible for many ST atrocities. Berman was Stalin, and Braga was Beria.
I blame Rick Berman. For many ST-related atrocities.
Well, the remastered original series replaced most of the Enterprise model shots with CGI, though it’s done in a way so it at least resembles the original model shots…
I didn’t think they added too much CGI to the remastered TNG, just fixed the color balance and enhanced some of the effects shots. Not nearly as noticeable as, say, the original trilogy of Star Wars revisions.
It’s all grainy and 4:3 ratio. Glorious originality!
Though I’d love to watch the remastered version.
Is it the remastered version with CGI added everywhere (yes, they did that with the Blu-rays of both the original series and TNG, though the Blu-rays at least give you the option of watching the original cheesy model effects)?
“Five Card Stud, nothing wild. And the sky’s the limit.”
Ya, I’m not as big a Trek fan as them but I can’t even watch anything VOY unless it’s SF Debris’ reviews if it and the only episode of ENT I ever watched made me never watch again(once again I will only look at SF Debris’ reviews of it.)
You have wise friends.
I have some friends that count anything worse the VOY as not being a thing, and ENT is the reason why.
@kircher
Agreed, ENT was the worst of the bunch. xD
I actually bought the complete boxed sets of all 6 Star Trek series a few years ago, I really should get around to watching them all some day. :)
Enterprise does not exist in my personal headcanon. Incredibly disappointing mess of a show.
At least it wasn’t ST:ENT. That show ripped off other episodes of Star Trek all the time.
You summed up my feelings on Voyager very well. All ST shows had dumb episodes, but Voyager had some of the dumbest.
Yeah, the move to darker, grittier episodes certainly helped the show to avoid jumping the shark. I also really enjoyed Voyager, but that just started looking for excuses and ways to get around the whole “abandoned with no resources, little power and no way home” premise it had set for itself from the start. For a ship with no backup or resources, they remained in perfect condition and never ran out of anything ever. :P
Not at all. I liked when TNG got a bit darker toward the end.
Yeah he did, and then he stole the Defiant and flew into Cardassian territory. Shooting up the Enterprise and then stealing it would not be out of character for him really, would it? :P
