Sunset is tremendously strong; that’s also where she gets her spectacular figure. In this scene, she was handling a sledgehammer like a baseball bat, and the animators clearly understood just how heavy and clumsy a sledgehammer is; in Rainbow Rocks, she launched herself horizontally like a javelin, which is physically possible, but just barely, and only if you’re in amazing shape.
 
It’s really impressive that the animators think through things like this. Sunset doesn’t get that strength by accident; she must have a very strict and demanding workout schedule. She has a general tendency to do things herself, not bothering to ask for help or look for allies, when things need to be done; this is surely why she pays so much attention to physical fitness, especially physical strength.
