Yes, vindicated, you two. What “canon”? It was stupid fanon that made no sense whatsoever, “based” on blur butchered by compression. Her real, canon mark looks much better and is model accurate to show to boot.

Regular brushable are currently $6.99 at the Canadian Walmarts. TRU charges more, but then this us a SPECIAL EXCLUSIVE so it will even more. I think PF was $14 CAD before taxes. Maud will be similar.

Aren’t brushables usually like 5 bucks?

I wish TRU sold this sort of thing cheaper. I want one to keep stock and one to um…deflower.  
Hopefully they will end up with too many, like with Photo Finish, and clearance them.

Yeah, I’m with those artists that stay to the Tom /rock cutie mark - the gem just doesn’t make as close to much sense as the rock does.
 
It could be for the one scene in the episode that someone noticed her flank was exposed long enough and they dropped something premade that made sense in there (eg the Tom vector) but now that she’s enraptured the fandom and become an ensemble darkhorse, they’re working out the rest of her details, including her middle name and a real CM. And that the S5 episode could address this.

At the very top of Maud’s cutie mark is a spot of light gray, surrounded by some other slightly darker shades. Then, most of the middle of the mark is solid medium gray. Then, there’s a spot of dark gray at the bottom tip. All of these colors match Tom exactly. Now try putting the gemstone up to Maud’s real mark. The colors don’t match at all!

I was shocked to see this, because in this case the fan art seems to have informed the toy division. Gem-Maud was pretty popular for a while and you still see her frequently.
 
Of course the million-dollar question is: which style will the Onlyfactory knock-off have? The person who requested it uploaded art with both marks.
 
I imagine the show won’t reveal either way, so we can argue over it forever. > :D

Also as know that Maud is due to make a reappearance in S5, I’d wait until that ep to see if there’s better confirmation.

It took the toy line a while to catch up on Cheerilee because she was in G3. The latest Cheerilee toy has the G4 mark, so that example’s not really relevant.

Show canon > Toy canon. Show says Maud’s CM is Tom, not Black Diamond. Unless/until the actual animation uses the new CM, yours is still wrong.
 
Proof? Cheerilee’s CM is different in the toys than on the show, and no fan artists use her toy’s CM.

I’m just curious, what kind of dress is it that Maud wears? I’ve been told once, but I forgot.

To be fair… It could either be a Diamond / Gemstone, or it could be Tom. That bury Pic doesn’t really tell us much. Besides a Tom Cutimark would need some more explanation as I associate Tom with a slightly different Pony.

This isn’t quite the same as those. RD’s is an off-model glitch and Cheerilee’s is a slight design difference. Maud’s cutie mark confusion is a case of people deliberately ignoring something that’s basically undeniable at this point, and perpetuating something that’s outdated.
 
Remember when we didn’t know what Spitfire’s cutie mark was? After we found out, her fanon cutie mark basically vanished from fan art. Maud’s was harder to see, sure, but it’s clearly identifiable. So… why? >_<
