Good to know Celestia is sticking her neck out for the little guys.
Why not both. (generic mexican music plays)
I enjoyed your narrative passage, but… wait, Rainbow Dash banashed to the moon? Wat? Where did that come from? lol
Anyways, I still think the thought of Alp-luachras affecting the dreams of ponies.
At least we’ve got Sunbutt turning into an Alpy now! :3
Twilight and Celestia sat beside Saddle Lake, finishing off a long day of studying a curious little species that populated Equestria’s inland waters. For the past half hour they had been relaxing, content to enjoy the sunlight of the teacher’s might. Suddenly, Celestia stood.
“What’s wrong?” Twilight asked, watching her mentor curiously.
Celestia looked down upon her with a look that was becoming all too common to the little alicorn: a serious frown, stern, yet somehow sad, as if Celestia were about to relieve some great burden upon her student.
And sure enough… “Twilight Sparkle, my faithful student… what I am about to show you, you must not share with anypony else. This is a secret privy only to my closest and oldest of friends. Do I have your word?”
“Of course, Princess. What is it this time?”
“You see-… what?”
Twilight realized her mistake and shrank away. “I-I mean… I don’t mean to be rude or anything, but you said the same thing when you told me about that… interesting collection of fan-fiction surrounding the lives of fives young mares in a small town ruled by a “virgin-hunting dictator”.”
There came a shocked gasp from a few meters away, and in a blinding flash of light, Rainbow Dash was banished to the moon.
Twilight looked back to her mentor with a sour look on her face. “And no, I didn’t appreciate that inaccurate portrayal. You also have a habit of using run-on sentences.”
Celestia huffed and pandered further towards the water, submerging her ankles as she removed her golden slippers. “Well at least my personal aides like to read my stories, traitor. But anyway, without further ado…”
Celestia raised her horn into the air and let a beautiful cascade of golden magic flow into her body. The flowing hair of her tail rose up to connect with her mane, and with a rather violent flumph, her entire tail was sucked off her body and became a part of her now even more gigantic head/neck of hair. Twilight watched, mildly confused. Celestia’s body began to change; the flexible part of her tail grew long and as thick as her abdomen, meshing in perfectly into one smooth surface.
As this happened, Celestia’s entire body began to shrink. Further her tail grew, now starting to reach past the length of her body, swan-like neck included. Her ears puffed up and sprouted a trio of rounded protrusions, the skin between them splitting as a pair of gills formed on each. Twilight hesitantly reached a hoof forward to poke her shrinking mentor, but was quickly warned away by a short jolt of magic. Celestia’s entire body was now a mere two feet long, not counting her tail. She almost looked like a very pretty snake, if snakes had legs and were tiny ponies. Finally, her horn vanished off her forehead and into the aether.
Twilight sat back, still confused. “Well that’s…” She smiled. “Incredibly cute.”
The tiny Celestia turned her nose up once more, though Twilight couldn’t see the rest of her grumpy stance as her head was the only part of her still above the water. “Someone doesn’t like my fan-fiction, so I might just feel like abandoning the surface world for a month of so to regain some semblance of confidence in my writing.”
“A month??”
“Yeah. Might make ponies start thinking the Sun moves by itself again, hah! That’ll be a fun rebellion to quash.” Celestia turned towards the vast expanses of the lake that was now as large as a pair of Ponyvilles to her.
“Now… I must go. My other little ponies need me.”
@Parallel Black
What if alp-luachras also worship Celestia and Luna, just in alp form. Since alps are kind of ponies as well, or atleast pony looking.
The idea of alp-luachras affecting their host’s dreams… that is, without a doubt, such an awesome idea!
That would be a good idea to, you know, explore visually some time! ;)
I would bet on it. You’d probably wake up wondering where such a weird dream came from and why you enjoyed the thought of being eaten so much.
…headcanon processing…
Somewhere around 1000 years before Luna’s banishment, civilization had reached a stage where permanent towns were popping up, created from the roaming tribes that dotted the land. Belief in spiritual beings and superstition encompassed pretty much everything to do with daily life - the Whitetail “Woods” probably spread over most of Equestria at this point.
Relating this back to Alp-Luachra, there may have been an extinct sub-species with heightened magical abilities. These mystical Alps could induce strange dreams upon their hosts, dreams of being one of them, finding a host, and feeling incredibly fulfilled once inside them. Ponies would wake up with a strange fascination, seemingly cursed by some roaming spirit to make them have such strange and nonsensical thoughts.
And yes, they were probably stoned to death for it or something. It was the dark ages after all. (And then their “corrupted spirit” would leap from their mouth and run away. Better squish the thing quickly, else the cursed, dead pony won’t get to heaven!)
Now here’s the million dollar question: do you have weird dreams when Alp-Lunachra (sounds like a Mexican tortilla snack) sleeps one off in your belly?
Oooh!~
Hope that`d work out!
Totally ^^
I may or may not make a second attempt to do Celestia, too.
