I keep forgetting how much of a manipulative bitch Spitfire is in this story…
“I,” Rainbow floundered. “I dunno Spit- er, Captain. It doesn’t feel right.”
“Was I right about Twilight Sparkle?”
“Well… yeah.”
“Was I right about your parents?”
“Yeah,” Rainbow sighed as she felt were the conversation was going.
“I’m right about this too. So what you need to do is focus on your friends first. Then, and only then, should you worry about fixing things with the Hero.”
“Horseapples,” Rainbow Dash muttered as her gaze dropped to the floor.
“Now what’s the matter?” Spitfire replied, growing irritated.
“I don’t know how to break it to them.”
“Do you trust me?” Spitfire asked placing her hoof on Dash’s shoulder.
“Umm… sorta?”
Spitfire smiled, “Good enough.”
Then without warning, Spitfire reared onto her hind legs gripped Dash around the neck with her fore leg that had been resting on her shoulder, with her other she reached out and flung open the door beside revealing Twilight and the rest of Rainbow Dash’s friends sitting a calmly, whatever they had been talking about prior to the unexpected interruption brought to grinding halt. With a quick jerk, Spitfire hurled Rainbow Dash by the neck forward into the room and slammed the door behind her.
Spitfire dusted her hooves off in satisfaction, and quickly fell back to four legs as she felt the train lurch beneath her as it began its trek to the pony capitol. She let out a sigh of relief from her plan being so narrowly thwarted by Rainbow Dash’s conscience.
“Geez, that mare moves quick,” the Captain muttered to herself as she made her way to her own booth on the train car.
