Yeah that’s it. It makes the front of the neck look like leather…
If it’s that sharp shadow transition, I believe it’s supposed to be where one of the tendons in the neck stand out when you turn your head. It raises up the skin and causes a sharp deliniation in shadow.
How so?
Not to mention, Price was saying from the start that the award Twilight Velvet got could’ve easily just been an award named after Daring Do.
I do not disagree. It is just that it is like Indiana Jones and all of his treasure hunting adventures being real. And to fund them, he writes, directs, and stars in shot for shot movie remakes of said adventures.
Well it was weird, but actually fairly logical in the universe of the show: It implies stuff DOES, IN FACT, happen to other ponies, in a way that doesn’t revolve around the Mane Six, or other primary characters. Up until this point, pretty much everything was focused on events that were either destinies of the Mane Six, were holiday events, or villain encounters of some sort. Rainbow Dash actually encountered Daring Do and all that came of it was a book; there wasn’t even an “artifact of Harmony” like what was obtained in “Wonderbolt Academy”.
It was literally just a case of “Our paths crossed. Let this never happen again. We live different lives. Piss off, but thanks.” And I support that; it keeps other characters interesting.
Yeah, making Daring Do and her adventures real was a weird decision.
That’d be ridiculous if she was. Why give a character MORE character when they can just introduce a new one and sell more merchandise?
…
Wow, that was actually a very complete explanation for the subject. o_o
I read the comics as well. I was disappointed when Twilight Velvet did not turn out to be the author of the Daring Do series.
My god… Luna becomes Eddie Murphy…
… She’ll never be good in a movie, now…
But really, it’s a shame it’s not actively acknowledged in the show. I know it’s likely written by Hasbro-approved writers, but I’m generally attached to the show-canon.
… It’s gotten me into a few fights regarding the legitimacy of the comics…
The nickname? No. It is in the book The Journal of the Two Sisters. The book is a written as a diary in the voices, and hoof-writing (or I suppose magic writing), of young Celestia and Luna. It also has a few other interesting factoids. Like how the Alicorns were apparently an entire race and that they have been grooming Celestia and Luna to become princesses, even before they were approached by Star Swirl. Also, Luna has the ability to talk to animals. Like, she is even better at it than Fluttershy. She Dolittle’s them.
It occurs to me that “Pansy” may not be the best name to be burdened with… But you have a point. It’s in the show, yes?
It was from when they were young. Well, not young young. They did not yet have their cutie marks, yet they were still older than Princess Platinum. And this was after she, Clover, Hurricane, Pansy, Pudding Head, and Smart Cookie founded Equestria.
I wonder if that’s a consistent nickname… or if it’d change over time.
@ShimmeringStallion
Actually, in the Journal of the Two Sisters, the only nickname is Luna’s for Celestia. And that is “Celie”.
That would sound so cute coming from Luna here.
Full of Shit… but it’s all good. Nah, she’s never been called Lulu in the show, that’s a fan-made term, as is “Tia” for Celestia and “Annoying fucker” for Navi.
Different universe, but still, fan-term. :)
Has she ever called her that in the show. I vaguely remember her doing so once, but I could be full of shit.
