I knew listening to Dear You while looking at this is a lethal dose of sad.
While we don’t exactly know how slowly dragons age, in Dragonshy they stated that a Dragon’s nap lasts 100 years.
Im no expert, but if a creature’s NAPS can last 100 years, then I wouldn’t find it hard to believe that 100 years later Spike wouldn’t have grown at all. In fact, Im pretty sure G3 Spike was supposed to be over 1,000 years and was a baby as well.
Again, that movie is inapplicable to this picture. He hadn’t faced the loss of a loved one until the end of the movie.

It does debunk a majority of the negative things about immortality. Ironically, for a movie with a more positive spin on immortality, it’s quite somber.
