@Beau Skunky
Oh, I think I misunderstood something here; I meant that the Don Bluth style was popular starting with The Secret of NIMH, not that his style had started shifting more towards the Disney look back then.
Oh, I know, it was just a classic…actually now that I’ve said it, it’s really more 70s, especially in Bakshi animated films.
Agreed as to that.
“Rotoscoping” has actually been around long before the ‘80s. Nowadays they just use CGI for that kinda 3D effect.
And yeah, Mrs. Brisby doesn’t look anything like a Disney mouse. Granted Don Bluth got his start at Disney, but his movies tend to be alot darker, but still have a certain “cuteness” about them.
At least NIMH was still in glorious 80s Rotoscoping(TM) for the human characters and backgrounds.
And come on, compare Mrs. Brisby with a Disney animated mouse, it’s clearly a different style.
Ever since The Secret of NIMH, at least, I’d say.
Dude, it was ALREADY in style ever since The Land Before Time.

In a way, it kinda is. Compare an old ‘80s Don Bluth movie, to a Disney movie. Bluth’s movies do have a unique art/animation style. (Before executive-meddling in the ’90s started forcing him to make his movies more “Disney-like.”)
Edited
Yes, indeed. You probably didn’t know.
Easy there, dude. Mistakes happen.
Hey, uh, you were the one who reported this as a duplicate? I’m not the one to start a grudge, but I uploaded this before you did.
LOL, yeah. That’s what I thought when I first saw this.
I love it!
