John Joseco who has been the person behind many of our favorite pony drawings over the years and my colleague on Ask Gaming Princess Luna and Hunters of Salamanstra has recently been hospitalized for an illness affecting his drawing arm.
He’s had to undergo surgery and was even at risk to lose his drawing arm altogether! In response Jen (who does a great fan voice of Celestia in the fandom) and myself have started a fund to raise money for his medical bills. I really hope you guys can help to get him back on his feet!

Just remember that they are completely irrelevant. Don’t engage them in their wank-/hatefest and they will get bored and stop.
I don’t have much problem with nepotism so long as it’s in good faith and if the people are competent in what they are tasked to do.

I’ve had that conversation with doctors while being prescribed the kind of antibiotics that come in giant horsepills and completely destroy all internal flora; it’s always fun to hear phrases like “dead as a doornail if you’d waited one more day” delivered with a professional lack of amusement. If your immune system rolls a natural 0 on a saving throw versus infection, simple redness and irritation can flip to necrotizing fasciitis in a couple of days, and JJ had already treated this once and it came back hard; this thing ain’t fscking around.

As for how he got his infection, and not really related but I feel like it’s time for a story… back when my pa was 16, he hit the dirt playing football and had a blade of grass get embedded in his forearm. Thing got infected, and didn’t go away. Family being poor ranchers and all, they just hoped it would pass; just a cut and some dirt and grass, right? Well then the arm bloated into a horror movie thing, they drove 3h well above the speed limit to the nearest “hospital”, and doctor told them that if they’d waited just half a day longer they’d have to had sawed the arm off, assuming he’d even still be alive.
Basically the human body is frail in the oddest ways and a simple mosquito bite can kill you.
But that’s not even what nepotism is; Nepotism specifically refers to showing favoritism towards family members.
You’d be surprised. I know there was a SJW or two wishing death on him for Molly.
I think Calpain probably put it in last night’s roundup to head off any pissy accusations of nepotism on his part since he and JJ are so close, and that was one of the things the DWM people bitched at EqD about.

Honestly, the faith I still have in humanity (yes, I still have some of that) makes me hope that even THEY wouldn’t wish death or permanent disfigurement on someone…
