Celestias family life is one that will always be marked by tragedy of her own making.  
Her husband sacrificing himself to contain the evil within her tyrannical counterpart, her sister being trapped for 1000 years on the moon, and her only daughter having her Alicorn nature taken away and everyponys memories erased on a knee-jerk reaction to a partial prophecy foretelling a tragedy brought upon by her daughters heart being pained by magic.  
Celestia lost her past with Luna, then she suffered her Present when Sombra was corrupted, and now she has forsaken her own future with her daughter Cozy Glow.

Clever. For extra cavity-inducing d’awww, Celly & Sombrykins take turns nibbling petals ’till the future heir(esse)s wake up & wriggle a bit. Or shine brightly enough for ultrasound-free monitoring, being fueled with high-octane solar mojo & all.
