There is no getting away from a snake once youre spotted. That closed door wont help. The night wont help.
Spike can swap his eyes between those sets of eyes freely. But Sparity born with only infrared detector eyes. She need to wear glasses all the time. So she can look everything normal like everypony.

True enough; it’s just easier to ‘translate’ that sense for us with IR sensor/Predator(TM) vision, since humans don’t have those sensory organs.
Well, one can alter the lens to make it possible to see in different frequencies. I’d imagine real specs require a built-in light to do that, but we can just chalk it up to magic. :j
Dunno how much active predation adult dragons get up to, but low-light visual acuity seems like a bonus for critters spending a good chunk of time sitting watch over an underground hoard.
