Yeah, fair enough. I probably should have slapped on the caveat of “… as far as the movies are concerned”. Disney has had a far better record when it comes to non-movie Star Wars stuff (but certainly not perfect glares at EA )

Not really. Sure, the Sequel Trilogy was a misfire, but “The Mandalorian” was awesome, and redeemed Disney from the Sequel Trilogy. “Book of Boba Fett” looks awesome, and the anime anthology miniseries was great.

They should have mentioned the fact the lightsaber is red instead but even then there was a sith who used a double sided blue light saber (not the same on as your picture) so… yea… EVERYTHING IS CANON IF YOU BELIEVE!!!

Honestly, Darth Maul’s lightsaber looked infinitely more silly and dangerous to the user than this does.

ya know i get why people might think its impractical and whatnot that the blade would slide down and cut through it and thus through the guy’s hand, except its been stated and shown in every star wars media (books, movies, toons, video games, etc.) that the blades dont slide down like a normal sword.
 
Another compliant ive seen is that it would be rather dangerous to its own user to use because of the extra blades jetting out from the sides. His fighting style would accommodate for that.
