It’s not “trying to appear smart.” It’s just a framed nonfiction series laying out various fallacies, predictable biases, and other examples you find in plenty of collections of tips on clear thinking. Don’t be defensive.
 
The series is originally written in Russian, or, well, probably Russian. Some language that uses Cyrillic, anyway. The original comic is here: http://umneem.org/mrp/32.
 
Umneem, it’s good to see you here! I don’t often see a nonfiction series using an MLP framing. Please keep it up for as long as it interests you.

TlDr, this is a lecture in comic form, which is boring as hell. Also, for something that want to appear smart, that English is almost unreadable.

I agree that most adults can come to the similar conclusions. The problem is that not many people are consciously aware of concepts described in these comics.
 
Also someone can make a series about Rarity talking about fashion. I believe she would appear very smart and competent in such a comic. So I’m not sure Dispersion is smarter than Twilight, she just have more knowledge in a specific areas, and vice versa.

Really? Okay, if she’s that smart, even smart than twilight, then I wonder she knows the meaning of life? Or she knows he cure for cancer? Or try to outsmart the Artificial intelligence!(Joke lol)

I might be over-reaching, but it looks to me like she’s just there to look smarter than the other characters, explaining things to them that most young adults can intuit without too much trouble.  
No offense to the artist or anything, if this is what you do for fun, I’m not gonna judge, but that’s what I think.

I mostly see her talking stuff like lecture, compliments, opinions or some other type of talking.
