Understandable, to some extent, but not necessarily reasonable. After all, the “humane five” were there to reassure her.
It was perfectly reasonable for Twilight to have this moment of doubt. She sees Sunset before her and a rush of emotion and memory comes forward. Try to keep in mind, Twilight has no idea how changed Sunset is. Hell, Sunset could have sent that message as a way to get revenge on Twilight.
Have you ever felt the same over someone who had wronged you but had said they would change their ways? Not every keeps their word.
Just that some hesitation is understandable, but it’s not exactly supposed to be reasonable. Again, Twilight’s whole purpose for being there was because of Sunset. I agree with you that Twi was certainly in character, but that doesn’t make her actions any less head-shake worthy.

I don’t know, Twi’ does tend to have cases of self-doubt, preassure to get things done, and such which the movie had, so she felt pretty in-character to me.
And twi and the others accepted her plea for forgiveness and to be friends. PTSD aside, it’s not like much of Twi’s canon personality was considered for this movie…or her common sense.
Well, she did try to kill her, and said friends.
