Well I do, Everyone who bought Equestria Girls and Rainbow Rocks on blu ray does, everyone who owns a PS3 or PS4 (combined of nearly 100 million) most likely watches Blu Rays on them. So no, not everyone watches DVDs, I don’t know what kind of rock you’re living under. Seriously go on the American Amazon website, see how many reviews on the FIM DVD boxsets where people want a Blu Ray player. Stop being so closed minded FFS, it’s the year 2014.
 
No it’s not easy. You claim they can make them over 5 discs at 720p, but I posted my previous stating that if you only had room for 6 episodes on each disc including the commentaries (which YOU gave the example BTW). So Disc 1 has 1 to 4 plus its commentaries, Disc 2 has 5 to 10, Disc 3 has 11 to 14 plus 2 commentaries, Disc 4 has 15 to 19 plus 1 commentary. But then you get to the 5th disc where there are 7 episodes left and you can only fit 6. So you can’t squeeze in Best Night Ever and its commentary. So you have to make a sixth disc for 1 episode and it’s commentary, which is not worth it.
 
Instead of saying all this stuff about DVD quality to me, go and email Hasbro or Primal Screen about it.

Except nobody in the world has a bluray player, everyone uses DVDs.
 
It’s really easy to put the entire series 1 onto 5 disks, IN ORDER, plus bonus fetures spread evenly….They mucked it up, that’s the point I’m making.

The pilot is two parter so you could only have 4 episodes on the first disc providing you’re putting them in order.
 
Disc 2 would need to have episodes 5 to 10, which is 6. Disc 3 Would have 11 to 14 plus the commentaries for Winter Wrap Up and Suited for Success.
 
Disc 4 would have 15 to 19, which is 5 due to the commentary for the Show Stoppers.
 
But Disc 5 would need to have 7 episodes due to the commentary for Best Night Ever. So you would need to move 1 episode. As you suggested 6 maximum, it doesn’t seem realistically possible.
 
So in short, if you want the episodes speared out by 5 or 6 over 5 discs in high quality, then it’s nearly impossible. You may as well just released it on a Blu Ray which would be easier.

That’s why I said six episodes per disk, because you put five episodes and one comenetary on each disk, then six episodes on the last disk

Yeah I’m definitely glad. We don’t normally get special features on some shows like Adventure Time for example, so I was delighted to see the MLP Boxset have them. Although our boxset has the episodes out of order…

That’s the amount that the Region 1 DVD had as well. Glad to see that British Bronies weren’t cheated out of those pretty cool bonus features.

Yep it does! It has six.

Does it have any of the Audio Commentaries from the S1 Region 1 DVD?

There’s also additional features which would take up more amount. Not to mention as it’s a 26 episode season so you would need to put 1 episode on 2 discs, or 2 on 1 disc; leaving 7 or 8 on them respectively. Not saying it’s impossible, but very tricky.
 
It probably would be easier just to do all of that on Blu Ray. Although I’m not an expert on this kind of stuff so I could be all wrong. Seems you obviously know more than me :P

I am pretty sure these dvds are 720i. Thats what was causing the issues on my vlc player.
 
I also got a partial refund from amazon that brought the price down to £18 so that must be a standard price now.

Thats not how dvds work.
 
You can put 4k on a dvd if you wanted.
 
The higher the res the fewer minutes you get. 6 episodes (132 minutes) on a dvd could be 720p. It could even be 1080i as a lot of films are.

Because I don’t think you can have DVDs above 480p.
 
I got this as well. It’s decent minus the episode order, and the picture quality looks alright on my PS4, but awful on my portable DVD player. I really wish they would make a Blu Ray for FIM.

I just got mine today as well, something like £22 I think, whatever.
 
I can’t bear to play it in VLC, every frame with movement as some kind of fuzzy layered issue. Thankfully it works in WMP so I can still watch it.
 
So very annoyed that the episodes aren’t even in order, watching it is going to involve a lot of disk changes… except that my old 720 youtube versions are of higher quality.
