yeah but the lack of the start menu isn’t a handicap, it’s just a different layout.  
The “start window” who pop out from right does most of the classical start menu function.

v Except no start menu. Indeed I find metro really awesome for tablets and stuff but this doesnt fit on a desktop/laptop computers.

i’m using win8 from about two weeks and IT ROCKS.  
seriously, finally a OS compatible with some tablets.  
if you don’t like the metro layout then just go straight to the desktop and voilà, the same old windows
