Not really, if you’ve seen the old game trailer for Kirby GCN, and old screenshots. It looked like a much different game, and many things/places dont look anything like the Wii game “Return to Dreamland.”
Though they kept the 4 player concept, but got rid of the “helper” feature, (which worked similarly to “Super Star” where players would take enemy forms) and just replaced it with Dedede, Meta Knight, and Waddle-Dee as the other playables in a “NewSMB” or “Rayman Orgins/Legends” fashion.
The cancelled GCN Kirby game was revised as Kirby Wii. It’s really obvious they’re the same game. ^w^
Oh, I see. Rocky was cool.
I remember the cancelled GameCube game, they were going to bring back the “Helper” character feature from “Super Star,” and expand on it. Would be nice to have that feature again.
I was actually talking about Rocky, not Boulder. You know, from Kirby’s Adventure and beyond. Made popular by Kirby Super Star. I’m kind of disappointed that Rocky wasn’t at least mentioned in this. He could’ve been somewhere in the Pie section to make a reference that they’re on the Rock Farm or something.
I think this was made shortly before Maude was introduced in Season 4.
The art style of those li’l sketches remind me of the ones you see during Kirby 64’s ending credits.

Aside from “Kirby Super Star” & SSB, Kirby didn’t start regularly having “hats” with his abilities until the GBAdvance era started.
I think there may be another cowboy hat for a different ability in one of the predecessors to Kirby Wii as well. :j
Yeah, it’s “whip” ability. They even have it in “Kirby Fighters Deluxe.” (A good Eshop game to get while you wait for SSB to come out.)
They also have a “Lasso” Kirby level in the “Challenge” mode in “Kirby’s Dream Collection.”
