Burn.
LOL Nice!!
All that’s missing is a smartphone.
!derpicdn.net/img/view/2012/7/11/40572__safe_rarity_scarf_facebook_duckface_selfie_artist-colon-ambrosiansummers.jpg!
Got you covered.
Second, given who Rarity is as a character, would anyone seriously expect her not to do it?
You speak the truth.
She’s practically halfway there, all that’s missing is a smartphone. Hell, just give her a Polaroid and watch her go to town!
Eh, somebody who saw an early version of it, said they felt it was better then the first. Chill.
You’re oddly pessimistic for somebody who has a reputation for faving almost everything.
No, the poor plot will do that anyway.
Second, given who Rarity is as a character, would anyone seriously expect her not to do it?
Third, and most importantly, people who complain about pandering are many times more annoying than whatever alleged pandering exists in the actual product.
There have been very few references/shout-outs I haven’t enjoyed. In fact, they made the first EQG movie watchable for me. Maybe that means that I’m just a sheeple buying into Hasbro’s bullsh!t, but that doesn’t change its truth.
Y’know, I’ve been in this fandom long enough to remember when people liked references and shout-outs. When did everyone get a bug up their collective asses? Were such things only okay when Saint Lauren did it? Why?
TL;DR - Sequence is funny. Fandom really needs to get over itself.
It wasn’t even twerking, she was just swaying her hips, albeit in a rather suggestive manner.
Edited
Exactly, it’s been pretty harmless, for the most part.
Well, I can’t say I remember any definite way they’ve done that that took away from the episode at the time.
I wasn’t referring to the selfie scene, I’m talking about the show, and the occasional shout-outs to the brony fanbase, in the form of references, or certain fan-favorite background ponies appearing.
So it’s absolutely perfect for this movie!
Hip is for little pricks who thinks the world is all about them.
I’m not even sure this is pandering.
If not just a slightly obnoxious thing done to seem hip.
It’s not just to “pander” to bronies, some kids actually like the memes, and pop-culture gags to. Katie Cook says she sees kids in “Derpy” or “Dr. Hooves” shirts at conventions.
During a Q&A session at Babscon this year, I believe, a li’l kid when asking Tara Strong a question actually referenced the “What I learned Today” parody video by MrPoniator. Seems kids like the fandom parodies/memes to.
The complaining about “pandering” is way more annoying then the “pandering” ever was…
THANK YOU!!!
Whenever I read someone complain about “pandering,” this is all it translates to…
“How DARE they include something in the show that acknowledges us fans! They’re ruining EVERYTHING!!!”
And they were no less cringy.
@Simple
See my second comment.
You don’t say.
