Hello again, Icepony64 here.
 
I know about this if some don’t like it if Mario rides Rainbow Dash but its my thing… and this pic isn’t a hatred to the sonic or sondash thing.
 
This was a remake base from another pic with the same characters.
 
So hopefully you guys get this message and please don’t hate me if I don’t like sondash… I like Sonic the Hedgehog in his on series without being in crossovers and etc… but until now.

Yeah, though some aspects of his personality are different depending on the canon. (There’s surprisingly alot of different official Sonic canons between the games, comics, manga, and cartoons/animes.)
 
Though surprisingly they did adapt Sonic’s fondness of chili dogs from the older cartoons/comics into the games. (Starting with “Sonic and the Black Knight.”) Though, I heard chili dogs were listed as his favorite food on his profile in the Japanese “Sonic Advance 3” insruction manual, so maybe they always were “canon.” Just never mentioned.  
Kinda makes you wonder what else is “canon” in the main Sega game canon.

I once read on Sonic News Network that Sonic wasn’t really afraid of water, he just couldn’t swim. Although, that tidbit of information can probably be chalked up as something from the games (I don’t think their was ever a Sonic game with a cutscene involving water), since you said the comics/cartoon portrayed more of his personality.

Water is basically Sonic’s “Achilles’ heel,” sense he can’t swim. (The creators of the game mistakingly thought hedgehogs couldn’t swim.) Ask anyone who remembers annoying underwater areas in the games.
 
In fact, they even gave Sonic a fear of water in some of the cartoons/comic canons. (Like “Sonic X”)
