I was talking about Applejack’s role in this picture, because other BP said her role and Spike’s ‘got switched’ because they are ‘easily confused idiots’.

The roles here are well known tropes in any classic western, with AJ as the lead cowboy(cowgirl)/possibly lawman character, Rarity as the saloon girl who is usually the former’s consort and Spike as the bartender who’s her trusted confidante/subordinate employee. Obviously it’s a cover and just a joke, but those are the implications just by casting.

Yeah…there is no “casting”. Just a trio of friends dressing up for a fun photo. The three of’em would probably have a laugh over the thought of AJ and Rarity riding romantically off into the sunset.
