Some of their proposed ideas in the last election included putting tracking chips on all recently released prison inmates, which apart from being a violation of privacy, would only help a black market for disabling said chips flourish, as well as take up a significant amount of government resources to track thousands of people and keep their data stored. Even if it were to work, all it would ultimately do is make it easier to put released inmates back in prison, after which you could just save yourself a whole lot of trouble and do away with anything but life prison sentences.

Another thing is when they proposed that the government file and track every Israeli citizen living in the country, which actually sparked a lot of controversy and several protests. You can see where the whole “Nazi” thing comes from here. They also aren’t very thrilled about Israeli dual citizens being in Parliament. Personally I’m more worried about the fact that there are people without a Matura (High School exit exam) certificate sitting there.

They also have some pretty idealistic ideas like resisting most foreign imports and economic influence. They also intend to do all this in spite of any sort of international backlash, essentially behaving like an angsty rebellious teenager.

Of course to all this you can add your standard extremist party fare, such as the emotionally and ideologically charged nature of anything they say or write; claiming they are the only ones who are right like they did in their 2014 election campaign program and calling their opponents a myriad of names, as well as calling anything that disagrees with them lies by second nature(as you can see by the “Frequently Refuted Lies” section on their website); their inability to compromise or understand and complete lack of sensibility or objectivity or any kind of respect for their colleagues outside their own party.

They are also known for hijacking phrases from common language. Their slogan “Győzzön a Jobbik!” originally comes from the same sentence but with a non-capital “j”, and is best translated as “May the best man win!”. Now you can’t say that without inadvertently making a political statement. One could also argue that their very name, which originally means “the better of the two”, is also a hijacking of everyday language. Any political group that thinks they have this kind of right to a country’s culture is despicable in my opinion.

Hungarian here, Jobbik aren’t Nazis but a significant portion of their supporters are. It’s a pretty cheap political ploy to yell “Nazi” at them, but Nazi or not, they have some really insane ideas and are generally a bunch of crazy fucks.

Ironically they are condemned by other nationalist parties in Europe because while other nationalist parties don’t like Arabs due to immigration problems there, Jobbik just loves them to pieces. I saw many Jobbik drones with screen names in Arabic straight out of Google Translate. Presumably it’s because neither of them like Israelis.
