Oh, she has her little dragon boyfriend…. bbut good thing she is asexual here otherwise worse things can happen….
Edited
Should have said something like ‘Gold-digger’. Fucks anything for profit.
Regardless(shudder)
I don’t think it’ll leave the tree with any mental scars. :P
No not that just a chick having sex with trees just creates a HORRIBLE image
What, do you not like Fluttertree jokes?
Oh dear god
That moment when you moved your mutual train of thought from the lack of libido to a lowkey existential crisis
the best of all imo :
Exactly my thoughts on asexuality and transgender
So? We could also live for millions of years, spreading throughout the stars. Or create AI that spreads to the stars in our place. Or spread throughout galaxies, and after billions of years have evolved into trillions of separate lifeforms all totally different than humanity.
We do not know what the future holds, but it could be both bleak or amazing.
But that also implies that, with our current technological trend, we’ll survive that long anyway. We couldn’t nuke ourselves into oblivion 2,000 years ago. We can now.
None of those things are mastered, though. Heck, when I say mastered, I mean mastered. Like thousands of years from now. I don’t think in the short term on this kind of thing.
Just like we mastered the art of war? I mean, sure, it’s in human nature to kill each other for petty and insignificant reasons, but we as a species at least learned to stop doing it. Definitely.
Or what about proper care towards nuclear fission? It’s a force so powerful, we pretty much have to respect it. Doing otherwise, why, that’d just be foolish! There certainly aren’t any nuclear power plants all across the world that lack in qualities like design, maintenance, staffing, and emergency protocol.
We’ve definitely got nuclear fusion down too, right? We built bombs upon bombs of, well, bombs. That alone should be evidence that we respect a force capable of annihilating our very existence.
Then there’s the greenhouse effect. It’s a good thing we finally stopped making it worse.
We’ve also totally cured AIDS. And cancer. Heck, we stomped out the common cold a long time ago, didn’t we? I’m pretty sure we did. It’d frankly be embarrassing if we couldn’t figure that much out. Besides, curing those just freed up more time to design better diseases and better chemical compounds to mimic diseases! We’re so awesome, we got bored and made up new shit to kill us! Amazing!
Dr. Kelso: “Humans are bastard coated bastards with bastard filling.”
“Responsible enough” Hardly matters, I’ll happen. And we’ll start out bad at it, just like every other aspect of nature, but we will master it one day.
Still scary, if you ask me. I just don’t think we’re responsible enough as a species to handle that kind of power.
Regardless, thanks for discussing it with me =D . It’s definitely an interesting avenue of thought.
A child’s nature is already set in stone, so it’s not that big of a difference. Environmental factors can still affect someone, but genetics are the biggest determining factor.
I like to think of it in terms of other animals. Can a dog do anything a dog is coded to do? How about a cat? Or a fish? No? They why would humans be any different? Because while we may have a lot of diversity due to geographical separation and then reintegration, as well as more complex language centers that allows our personalities to differ much more than other animals, in the end we still cannot think or do anything that isn’t coded in our brains.
You can’t choose to be a psychopath, or choose to have autism, or choose to think like a female, or choose to think like a male, or choose to think like a dog, or choose to think like a fish, or even choose to be asexual. It’s all how you were born, raised, and are.
In short, engineering the ‘perfect child’ is going to happen, because in the end it’s just taking nature into our own hands. As we have down time and time again with everything else. Crops? Breed perfectly to suite us. Dogs? Breed perfectly to suite us. Children? Raised perfectly to suite us. And the next step is inevitable.
