This is a scene from the fanfic I have been working on.
I haven’t had much luck getting Twilight’s wings to look right on this picture, and I’m sure there’s artists out there that could do a far better job of this than I ever could.
It’s not quite finished either. Need to do the road yet.
Here’s the scene from my fanfic that the image depicts…
The titan turned a little at it’s waist, then raised it’s vulkan mega bolter.
‘Well’, Vorenze addressed his remaining troops,’ it’s been an honour serving with you’.
He close his eyes as the weapon fired a stream of mass-reactive shells, resigned to the fact he and his allies would be blown apart.
The shots didn’t hit.
When Vorenze opened his eyes again, the shells from the titan hung suspended in the air several feet away in a strange purple glow.
The glow subsided, and they clattered to the ground.
Looking around for a reason for this, he saw that all his allies were staring dumbfounded in the same direction, and not at the titan.
Following their gaze, he saw a small purple horse creature stood between them and the titan, it’s horn surrounded by the same purple glow he’d seen around the shots moments before.
As he looked around, strangely detached from the scene unfolding around him, he spotted something his other troops had missed.
There seemed to be a group of these creatures hiding behind a ruin a few feet away.
The ratling sniper Fenrick stood with them.
‘Well well’, admitted Vorenze,‘looks like you found something useful after all’.
Twilight stood before the immense machine, her mind racing.
How could one little pony stop such a huge machine?
Her magic had been able to stop it’s shooting, and it appeared to be stunned for the moment, but this certainly wouldn’t last.
She needed to take it down somehow.
The alicorn looked around for something, anything she could use.
The surrounding area was littered with demolished buildings, broken pipes, girders and still smouldering debris. Most of this was too small to really do any damage.
Her wandering gaze settled on what was once probably the corner of a tower block. The fifteen foot long ‘L’ shaped concrete block probably weighed several tons.
This was going to be a strain.
The last time she’d lifted something that big was when the Ursa had come to Ponyville.
A purple glow surrounded the rubble and it slowly lifted in to the air.
Twilight’s horn flared brightly, her face a mask of desperation.
The titan’s weapon barrels began to spin up again ready to fire.
This made Twilight panic. She could get blown apart at any moment.
With a final burst of magic, she hurled the rubble at the titan like a spear.
A few rounds began to stitch a path across the ground in a zig-zag pattern trying to find the range to hit the tiny magical creature that dared to challenge the might of the god-machine.
The chunk of masonry smashed through the cockpit window of the Warhound, crumpling half of it inwards with the impact. The momentum of the broken building was enough to drive it clean through the roof of the titan’s torso.
The titan rocked back and forth, impaled, before it’s corrupted machine spirit finally decided it was dead.
It toppled backwards with a groan and an earth-shaking crash.
After what seemed like an eternity, two sets of cheers rang out across the desolate landscape. One from the ponies once the shock of such an epic display of magical power had worn off, and the other from the rag tag group of soldiers who would almost certainly be dead right now, if it wasn’t for their unlikely saviour.

Ooooh those are great ones.
Angron is my favorite.
For ya know.
Obvious reasons.
Or we could just drown in expensive but cool plastic and resin toys….
Just ordered the Siege of Vraks campaign books from Forgeworld. 3 books at £42 each, or buy the book bundle for £50…
That’s a no-brainer!
Thought ordering the books I’m after instead of more models would be a better idea whilst I catch up a bit.
it’s not going to last though.
I collect the 40k named character models, and I’m really fighting ordering the Primarch figures I’m missing.
I have Angron, Fulgrim and Lorgar so far from the Horus Heresy collection.
It’s okay, bro. Maybe if we throw more money at GW it will make everything easier.
Whilst I always build and undercoat my models when I get them, the number of figures I have laying around at that stage is frightening.
An entire Tyranid horde, (around 5000 points worth in 2 force box sets boxes), and only around 30 of them are painted.
Ork army, only painted the bikes, buggies and around 10 Orks.
Tau, I can only field 12 fire warriors and 4 battle suits, plus 2 Hammerheads and an old broadside team, an Orca and an AX1-0 Tiger Shark fully painted. Got 96 fire warriors total, 3 hammerheads, 6 broadsides, about 14 battle suits, 3 devilfish and various other models unpainted.
My Eldar are even worse. I can field 20 Guardians in 2 different colour schemes. (My own craftworld scheme’s white with a flame effect, but I did paint my missus a small force with a pink fading to white scheme to get her to have a go. It worked.)
I actually have 140 guardians total.
At least all my super heavies for that army are painted….
Except for my MK1 Cobra which is only half done…
Haha! I really can relate, man. The Reaver I promised myself I’d work on bit by bit has seen no progress whatsoever. May just dump him off on my friend and have him take care of the painting. My Heldrake, Forgefiend, and several hundred members of chaos infantry have yet to even be primed. In fact, I think I spent most of my time putting nurglings in funny places and painting my best friend a Twilight Sparkle space marine.
I know that feeling. Got loads of projects underway, but their progress is grindingly slow at the moment because I keep coming on here instead of getting on with them.
That Wonderbolts themed thunderhawk I’ve been building has barely seen any progress for nearly a month.
I also have a forgeworld Fire Raptor still partly built gathering dust. That was getting Gilda on it. (Need to get back on with that it’s in the way).
I’ve several abandoned scratch build projects I need to get back to and finish at some point too.
Super heavy grav tank for my Necrons.
Leviathan command vehicle for my Imperial Guard.
Imperator titan, (only built the legs for this and they’re missing most of the details yet).
5 (yes, you read that right) Eldar knight titans. (2 Bright Stallions and 3 Towering Destroyers. All redesigned based off the forge world Revenant).
These and several more projects litter dark corners of my bedroom.
Surprised my missus doesn’t kick off about it tbh, although her teddy collection takes up nearly as much room as my 40k armies, so any argument there would fall flat anyway.
Oooooohoooohooooo yes.
You my friend, have my full attention. In fact, I, a fellow internet writefa-er…“fiend”, might once more dabble in a bit of Ponyhammer 40k crossover goodness. Of course…I REALLY should finish my Soul Grinder, first. He needs attention…
Would the fact that Lyra and Octavia are also in this story interest you?
Put in Lyra as an undercover agent, who has been sent to Ponyville by Celestia to keep an eye out for her favorite student. This actually fits with the series, because Lyra is in Canterlot when Twilight runs to the library in the very first episode, and she’s in Ponyville when Twilight gets there too.
She’s sent along with the main 6 because of her training, although up to now, she’s been saved from a Khorne Berzerker by Twilight, and completely upstaged by both Twilight and Rarity.
She has made friends with the sergeant Vorenze in the story though.
Seriously considering opening an account at F.I.M fiction just to get this story out there when it’s done.
Hehe. You just keep increasing my interest more and more.
I think we’ll leave that stupidity to a certain pink pony.
Just wrote a new part to the story today.
Literally nicked the scene straight from ‘Spaceballs’, where the princess gets her hair shot and goes nuts.
Just replace the princess with rarity, and the soldiers with chaos cultists and you’re not far off.
The cultists are protecting a grounded chaos thunderhawk, and Rarity destroys that too, by dropping a statue off a building on top of it.
Ooooh! Interesting! I’m excited to see what develops. Although as awesome as Chrysalis is, I doubt she’d be able to pull off something as lethal, moronic, and insane as sneaking into Slaanesh’s realm and slicing off locks of the Pleasure Prince’s hair.
it may be worth considering, although Chrysalis is also in the story.
If I explained her involvement here though, a big chunk of the plot of the story would be revealed.
Ohhhh that would be hilarious. Of course, you should eventually bring in one of the few beings who can effortlessly troll Discord. A certain malevolently mystical miscreant concealed with cryptic cloaks. The one and only… Changeling~! Or er…I guess in Equestria, the one and only DAEMONIC Changeling.
Not sure how to do this exactly. I want him to teleport himself and the scribes away from the big fight, but I could have them appear in the air over the sea, minus their disk, ending with a splashdown and Discord laughing at them whilst they’re trying to save their spell scrolls?
Alternatively they could appear on a desert island, begin bickering over who’s fault this mishap was, then get chased off by a dragon?
Thirdly, I could have Discord eating their spell scrolls and hurling his usual back handed comments at them, much like his eating of the reforming spells from Twilight’s library?
I have several things to put in this story yet, and the scene I’ve drawn here, whilst pretty epic, isn’t the most impressive thing I wanted to add.
Thanks for the explaination! That indeed cleared up a lot!
The ponies arrive after a big battle. The sergeant Vorenze and his group are all that’s left of the loyalist forces that fought the Chaos army there. The 2 Warhounds they run in to in this scene are left overs from the enemy forces. I think even Twilight would struggle taking out the Dies Irae. Besides, that particular titan has been destroyed in the fluff. Taken out on Cadia during Abbaddon’s 13th black crusade there.
Taking it out in this story would be counter to the background of 40k.
Although blown apart by the combined firepower of half a titan legion does sound a better ending for a legendary machine than impaled with masonry by a 3 foot tall alicorn pony!
