@Hollow_Shades_resident My guess is that the Crystal empires are on the other side of the mountains, that way there is a nice physical border between the countries. Zecora’s homeland wouldn’t be shown because this is a map of Equestria. The Zebra homeland is stated to be rather distant(most likely their world’s equivalent of Africa, with Equestria being an expy of the USA and southern Canada
 
@Cottontales While we don’t know everything about the astro-physics of their world, we do know that regular unicorns can raise/lower the sun and moon (“Hearth’s Warming Eve”). Celestia and Luna are special in that regard, because they can each do it on their own. It takes a team, maybe even an entire nation, of unicorns to do the same.

I sure hope this involves a crossover with a purple diamond dog who is even more timid and skittish than Fluttershy.

I think they are likely farther east than that but that’s just my opinion I guess until they visit an authentic griffin city. If they were western european I think they’d stick a piece of land on randomly for griffins, but they didn’t so I am guessing they are farther east.

I’m betting that we’ll get an episode set in Hollow Shades in S3.

Not on this map is Saddle Arabia, Hoofington, Trottingham, Zecora’s country, nor the Crystal Kingdom. Though I assume that will be near those Crystal Mountains in Season 3. Wonder how far North and South the railroad goes? As well as that road through the Badlands. And who lives in those igloos on the uppermost left.

Manehatten, with the boroughs of Manehatten itself, Bucklyn, Princesses, The (Boogie Down) Broncos, and Staten Island pun here(Hoofman Island? Hoefman as a Dutch sounding alternate?)  
Hm… I wonder if Los Pegasus also suffers from smog and shitty traffic? I’m guessing Applewood is still in the black and white era of Hollywood judging by the old-timey video shown in Hurricane Fluttershy.
