I chose a Riviera because it was intended to be the American Jaguar. What is Rarity, if not a midwestern-raised pony trying to put on airs of sophistication, such as the faux Tidewater accent. I was also considering a Rolls Royce, or an actual Jaguar, but I prefer American cars and the comparison of both being imitators was too ripe for me to resist.
What about Rarity? My top picks would be Austin-Healey 3000 or Volkswagen Karmann Ghia.
How does “Celestillac” sound?
If you’ve peeked at the others by this artist/me, you’d notice they’re all classic cars. When this car was new, it was one of the most sophisticated, largest, most expensive, and most powerful cars on the road (also the most inefficient, but who cares if you’re royalty). Luna will be getting the ‘rival’ Lincoln Mark III, and Twilight will be with a Mercedes; as it is classy in a simple way, and an up and-comer out of left field.
