You know what? I always thought that Artha’s backstory would fit perfectly with Sombra. Sombra be would the perfect Lich King.

Sorry to break it to you, but I dislike that headcanon. Also to top it off, Cadence’s backstory book is nothing but a glorified headcanon. Plus, Sombra doesn’t strike as a stallion who would settle down and have a family. Quite the opposite in fact.
I prefer to think of Cadance being Sombra’s daughter. She was somehow saved/escaped as a babe and flung into the future….It would fit with canon.
She was found as an (pegasus) infant in the wilderness and raised by a small town of earth ponies.
