I can’t believe the name argument still exists. It’s pretty much a given that regardless of what’s going on, “Derpy” is the accepted name. Tempers flaring or not.

I actually liked both “Ditzy Doo,” and “Derpy.” I call her by both names personally. Neither name is really flattering, but in a way can be kinda cute to. (Plus, “Ditzy-Doo” is a nice callback to the “Winter Wrap-up” episode.)
 
Personally, I think if they aren’t allowed to call her “Derpy” anymore, I don’t mind calling her by her alternate name “Ditzy,” but unfortunately that would still piss-off fans who prefer “Derpy,” and tried to fight/protest to keep that name during the “Derpygate” drama…  
Some fans insisted “it’s Derpy, or nothing,” so it looks like they got their wish in regards to the merch’ nowadays.
 
You can’t win either way really. Call her “Derpy” people get angry. Call her “Ditzy” people get angry. Maybe we should give up, and just name her “Bob.”

That name is actually much better. At least it is creative. The name Derpy is the so lazy, someone looked at her and took the most noticable thing about her and named her it. It’s like I see a short pony so I name him Shorty or I see a fat pony and I name her Fatty. There is no creative or style to it.

This has to be sent to Hasbro, if Walmart doesn’t get into trouble with soccer moms because of this (and I doubt it will) Hasbro has no excuse anymore to avoid her name!

Yep, I bought a Derpy key cap, from Hot Topic, which conveniently left her name of the packaging, as usual. However, the receipt clearly read ‘DERPY KEY CAP,’ meaning that Hasbro has officially adopted the name, but they don’t want to step on any toes by slapping it onto merchandise, all willy-nilly.

Uh, y’all? She’s been listed as “Derpy” in the inventory management systems at Hot Topic, Toys Я Us, Target, and Walmart all along– check the receipts– and the first batch of them (the ones with the effed up cutie mark and the matte finish) had “DERPY” on the UPC barcode.

They’ll call her whatever it takes to sell more toys.
