Yes, it’s thanks to my job. I repair electrical motors for a living. Dirty nails kinda come with the job.
Just a steady hand and, (at least in my case) bull-headed stubbornness.
I don’t really have a lot of patience, but I won’t give up.
I think my favourites of the pony tanks are my Dazzlings transport ones.
They took a bit more painting than this Whirlwind did.

Apologies for such a late reply.
As for how these are done, I just freehand painted them straight on to the models.
I have a talent for freehand copying, as long as I have something to work from.
This isn’t perfect but close enough.
