Let’s hope Maud got to him before Pinkamena did… At least Maud would make his death a little less painful… As if getting your pressure points exploded by a pony that knows Hokuto Shinken is better than being made into cupcakes!

I think it’s supposed to be like the first panel is outright shutting them out of conversations, and the second is deliberately trying to ignore their presence.  
Why the original version of these didn’t actually clarify and say what it probably meant? No clue.  
And even then, they’re not all too hurful: just the beginning steps to ‘asshole-hood’.

I never understood how the first two are hurtful; it’s obvious that you’ll talk to people besides the one you’re romantically involved with at some point, and some people consider making direct eye contact intrusive
