Oh, yes. I really wanted to see Twilight go into full goddess mode, but of course it makes sense that she wouldn’t let it happen: the whole point was to hide the magic. A little taste of what she’ll be like in a thousand years or so was neat.
 
I was more disappointed that we didn’t see Lulu and Tia revert to their mortal forms - yeah, how, why, and when they took on their modern designs is a fanon thing, but their having looked different in the past is not: if losing the magic didn’t make them look like normal ponies, suddenly all those tapestries depicting them as having looked different in the past make no sense at all. (And on top of that, Luna’s season one design is still on some new merchandise.)
 
And we see that having that power makes Twilight start to change. So “their manes don’t blow in nonexistent wind anymore” being the only change to the princesses was a disappointment and doesn’t really make sense given what we’ve actually seen in past episodes and in merch that Hasbro is still creating.

I thought this scene was neat. It shows how well-disciplined Twilight is. She’s containing so much more magic than she usually does.
 
Although it would have been funny if one of the princesses was turned into a potted plant or something. :)

I was, I’d always been looking forward to Twilight becoming an Alicorn since season one, and this is what I was waiting for! ….and then it went away, it was slightly depressing for me.
 
Heck I always figured that those stripes in her mane were make strictly for that, so when she did get the ethereal mane it would look like this: …or something to that effect, but I suppose she can’t be allowed to rival Celestias power just yet

OP here, I was actually surprised no one uploaded this moment so far. I thought it was pretty cool how she was trying to gain control again…Though I do love that mane, I think it should stay as her old lovable dorky mane. At least till the end of the series (if it changes in the series finale, that would be fine with me).
 
Anyway @Background Pony #D01C there is an ethereal mane tag, but it’s hardly been used so far.

Random observation: when ethernal, the skunk stripes in her mane + tail look like aurora borealis across a twilight sky.

Was anyone else disappointed when her mane settled down?
