I did. But that was an older playthrough, and I’ve never had such great luck on any subsequent playthroughs. Though I DID transfer both Shinies to one of my Generation V games so that I wouldn’t lose them…

I know how to do it, but for some reason it kept the original version and deleted the better one.
is very easy, just copy the number of this pic, go to the older one, click “report duplicate”, put the number, write the reason and click “report”

check the other one (click report duplicate), i already reported it with no problems.
I’ve tried it twice and I did it wrong both times. The worse quality version overwrote the better quality version both times.
I’m hoping to get it soon and after that I’ll be taking a long break from the shiny hunt.
In Pokemon Y alone, I got a shiny Dugtrio from a completely random encoutner before the fifth gym, and a shiny Absol after racing a friend for one. I lost the race by a couple of hours, but I still got my Absol mere minutes after I heard the news that I had already lost.
I got my shiny Herdier in White, and I have a Meditite from Platinum and a Claydol which is also from White.
Anyway, I wish you luck on your hunts!
I actually lucked out with getting 2 random encounter shinies(there would have been a third if I didn’t misjudge the where shiny was in the horde battle).
Unfortunately, Cottonee’s can’t be encountered in the wild in X and Y.
I’m just random encountering. The way I usually do it.
Masuda Method is haphazard(It runs 5 attempts to get a shiny, obviously it’s not certain you’ll get one through it, but it’s better than 1 check), considering that I had two lucky scenarios with it out of the several species I’ve tried.
I hear ya man. I’m currently hunting for a Shiny Eevee.
