You won’t be able to rescue those women without killing the terrorists. If the ultimate goal is help from the international community, then all this is is for naught. The international community would rather appease terrorists.
The intent of the hashtag is not to change the terrorists’ minds, but to bring global awareness to the problem and through that, hopefully international help to find and rescue the women.
They’ve also used EqG characters for other bits of activism as well, so…
Sure, its a bit odd, but also consider many of the women kidnapped ‘‘are’’ in the age that the EQG characters would be at. It brings the point home, these are not older people but barely-adult women.

It’s just support. A radical group kidnapping young women to try to prove a point is inane and the idea is to raise awareness of this problem to hopefully get international action to help recover them. Tons of celebs now have following in line.
Companies have to support these sorts of campaigns or it makes them look bad. But yes, support.

And the fact that many western media outlets really haven’t covered it, so the groups trying to get them back have pushed for the twitter campaign to get the word out. So this is all doubleplus good stuff.
It’s about the Nigeria incident, where a large group of girls were taken by a radical group against western education.
