This little scene was just so powerful for me. Discord, powerless, and full of regret. Fluttershy acknowledges his regret, but is too hurt to say anything more…

It’s kinda heartwarming, in a way, that Discord let everything that he usually keeps secret out in the open. Think about it, throughout the show since he was ‘reformed’ we’ve had reason to wonder if he really is 100% genuine in how he feels about Fluttershy’s friendship or if he’s still being manipulative. But now, right in this scene right here, we finally see that behind his chaotic mask he really does care about Fluttershy.
 
In just a few minutes of airtime the writers put to rest any doubt about Discord’s true feelings. And I personally hold a higher amount of respect towards Discord now.
