Octotrots can be defeated easily by deflecting their rocks at them with a well-timed block, but projectile attacks like unicorn magic or Dodge Junction pies are equally effective.
 
Certain octotrots will attempt to cut a deal with their attacker by offering to sell goods to them. Others have learned to take advantage of travelers and will not attack at all, instead offering a variety of useful items to travelers at a marked up price.
 
Travelers, like the one pictured above, are advised to be wary of such goods as they are often lower quality than what is offered in towns.
