Well, maybe I’m the crazy one (I never had a good sense of scale, anyways), but I’ve had the distinct impression that Cadance is smaller than Luna for quite some time now.

Yeah, you might be right, but I do welcome that difference to. Also looks like Twi’ly is the shortest princess, of course, regardless of her slight gain in height. (Though, she’s quite close to Cadance’s height >>553374 now.)

I’m not quite sure so I should check this out later on, but I think this height difference has been added very recently. I too noticed this episode that Cadance appears to be smaller than Luna. If that’s truly the case, I do like that idea. Makes each of them even more unique :)

Never noticed it before, but Cadey is a bit shorter then Luna. I used to think they were the same height/build.

Cadance is definitely the most down to Earth princess of the four.

Yeah, I know what you mean… And yeah, she’s not a “perfect Mary-Su,” I get tired of hearing that.
 
And yeah, the characters have had some character development to. Fluttershy at times is a bit more assertive to.

I can hardly add anything to your statement, because I completely agree. Also I’ve heard people complain about how Twilight is acting absolutely perfect this season, which she’s not. CM she was being a bit arrogant towards the others when they were talking about the pony of shadows (’No one likes sarcasm Spike (says miss sarcasm),‘It’s just a legend, See whaddya tell ya?!’), TaC being all blunt and grumpy (well she’s mostly like that around Discord), TT123 (where do I even start…but one example is that whole fight with RD) and plenty of other grump moments through different episodes.
 
Of course she has learned to keep things more to herself whenever someone gets on her nerves, but hey character development is also a thing. Though one could also say the same about the other characters, take a look at Dash being a lot more sensitive!

Indeed, it had some good, and even heart-warming moments. I also liked that brief moment when Twilight was sitting in her fancy seat with the other princesses, and looked at her friends ahead of her with a slightly sad look on her face as she looked down at her friends sitting without her. She probably would rather of sat with them, (Pinkie even later offers a seat) but was likely afraid to ask if she could.
 
While being a princess is nice, and all, (she and her friends pretty much were already famous for saving Equestria several times) I like how at times Twilight is a bit uncomfortable with being treated like one. (Like in previous ep’ “Trade Ya”)
 
I also liked that part where Spike stated she never let anybody down, and she stated, “Are you kidding? I let many ponies down before.” (Winter Wrap-Up, Swarm of the Century, Lesson Zero, and such come to mind.)  
I liked that part ‘cause it shows even Twilight admits she isn’t perfect, and I was getting tired of Twilight-hating fans saying she’s a “overly-perfect Mary-Su who always solves every problem, and is more entitled then any other pony” or say the show is becoming the “Twilight show,” and such.  
(We had a guy trying to start that crap, on a Rarity club I help admin on DA.)

I thought that too. The focus of this episode was on Spike and I felt for the little guy, but this touched me as well. I also liked how Pinkie invited her to sit next to her. Twi would have probably gladly accepted her offer, but was worried too much about Spike.

I did think it was kinda heart-rending Twilight had a moment where it looked like she wanted to sit with her friends.

Celestia: Just ignore them and keep acting like you’re paying attention to the games. The rabble are looking at us, not them.
