@Chrysalislover
Her base power is established to be quite a bit higher then Twilight Sparkle’s, but lower then Celestia.
But if both of them are being enhanced by something that Twilight has a vastly higher affinity with, Twilight can match Chysalis briefly. That’s the official stance on Hasbro and IDW.
@Chrysalislover I like to imagine she’s about Rarity-level, not cut out for a big magic throwdown, but experienced enough to beat them with multiple blunt implements at once.

Also, the reason why the Changelings lost to the mane six in ACW is that the love reserves that they bought to the siege that allowed them to overpower the guards had ran out, and they greatly underestimated them.
@Chrysalislover
I think that without any love in them, Changelings are absolutely pathetic and any pony that isn’t either a complete idiot or disabled can easily overpower one of them. This is why they have shapeshifting powers to begin with, so that they don’t HAVE to fight until they actually have some power to back it up should it come to the occasion.
@441TheSecond
I guess I have often wondered that. Minus a love overdose, just how powerful IS my queen? Does she perhaps have some ‘default’ powers that are still quite formidable? Or no?

And then it turns out that Chrysalis without having fed on love is absolutely freaking pathetic.
They’re shapeshifters for a reason.
Besides, ‘call the guards’? Couldn’t she pretty easily manhandle what would probably be a fairly small corps of guards?
