Oh, and he’d have to be careful, shields are rather draining if one doesn’t alter the density of the energy to account for differing targets, which would require master level knowledge of magic just below an arch-mage.
You could say the same of any power, really.

Shining Armor using his barrier spell for sword projection would make him pretty unstoppable.
I feel Shining is one who wouldn’t know how to turn them into blades or crush things inside a basic bubble shield, because of, well, Equestria.
