Yes, I didn’t want the princess thing because it would ultimately change the formula of the show. However, ignoring it once it happened for the most part is no better. All that did was to reveal the pointlessness of the coronation. And it was an “upgrade” to one of the main characters that had no reasonable counterpart in the other five, an upgrade that wasn’t expounded on in any meaningful way at that. There continues to be many reasons to dislike this whole princess business.
 
They should have addressed it more directly, with all its struggles and responsibilities, but they just never did.

I was excited and uncertain when I thought things would change.

It’s possible that they just don’t want her princessness to change the show much.
 
Isn’t that what people were worried about? “twilight being a princess will change everything oh noes!” And now people complaining because it isn’t?

Gotta agree there. Purple Smart’s newly obtained Royal status was highly underutilized.
 
Something tells me this wouldn’t have been so much the case is Larson hadn’t skipped this season.

This is the first explicitly royal duty she’s had this whole season that isn’t just something she did as a unicorn.
 
A duty that, on top of that, has never really mattered before today.

Frankly, I haven’t been impressed at all with any “princessy” thing she’s done so far. She would’ve done the same stuff as her old self anyway.

I love how people are still butthurt about Twilicorn despite what a boss she is at her princess duty.

Continuation: so saying princess twilight is like an xbone to the xbox 360 of unicorn twilight its pretty much complaining that a free expansion pack added to a game is ruining it.

Nah, just being generally prejudiced against things with wings. The Xbox One lost everything the 360 had, while Twilight now just has a pair of wings.

Also every time she flies or there is a mention of her being an Alicorn. Including when she’s sitting on a cloud or the entire Twilight Time episode.

That would only happen if someone (such as Kwark) was dedicated/crazy enough to sit down and edit entire episodes frame-by-frame; they’d have to take out Twilight’s crown, wings, etc. Who knows, it could happen only on the hub
