Only it wasn’t Capcom that made the real one.
It was a fan made, third part work, so no need to take back any of what you said about Capcom and this, just like with Street Fighter X Mega Man they didn’t actually do anything.

Try to remember the reason for the people didn’t like this April Fools joke is because it was Capcom doing it and with how they where doing things before this was a bitchslap to the fans.

Next time, know what is going on before you say something, you come off as dumb or clueless.

I’m sorry, but you could have tried to troll a bit harder. Not a very good effort.

Ah, Mega Man fans. Always a nice sight, when you think that bronies are too unbearable. Totally flipping their shit over the cancellation of a new game in a mediocre subseries, that barely anybody played? That level of inanity is normally only known from the Sonic fandom.
biznizz

@Captain L
1.That was still a statement from one of its developers, an official employee and the game was cancelled for bs reasons.

2. Ummm… no lets not disregard to its quality. Of course it sold well. IT’S AN iOS GAME. XOver’s reviews, IIRC, are amongst the lowest of any Megaman game ever. More than the third party MS-DOS games from decades ago. Sure, Capcom made money… but its still a terrible game for the franchise’s anniversary.

3. Considering it wasn’t revealed BBAM was Inafune’s idea until much later after his leaving, it felt like a slap in the face for a while. It doesn’t change he’s still on 360 disks but they are forbidden from using him without hacking.

4. The focusing on Zero over any other version of Mega Man in fighters lately seems deliberate. Tron Bonne is there too, but her Mega Man is left out too. A reskin for Zero to look like X is just lazy.

“Cancellation of Legends 3 & Universe and lying about why”
-They never lied about Universe, and the “lack of fan support” thing was one guy saying it.
“a terrible iOS game in XOver”
-Regardless of the quality, it’s one of the most successful Mega Man games of all time, only barely falling behind MM2. Though the money they made from it is unknown, it’s most certainly making back its budget and ultimately making Capcom money
“putting Bad Box Art Mega Man in SFXT and only for PS3 owners”
-Well, besides the fact that I think Bad Box Art Mega Man was brilliant, it’s called platform exclusive content. Soul Caliber does it
“only using Zero in MVC3”
-Yeah, only Zero. He’s only, what, one of the most popular characters in the Mega Man universe that never had representation in a fighting game?
biznizz

Cancellation of Legends 3 & Universe and lying about why, a terrible iOS game in XOver, driving off Keiji Inafune due to terrible business decisions, putting Bad Art Mega Man in SFXT and only for PS3 owners (and being on-disk DLC…), only using Zero in MVC3, and so on.

The Sonic/Mega Man comic crossover happened because Capcom USA felt sorry for fans, and the best thing to happen to video game Mega Man is Smash Bros (a game developed by Namco & Nintendo, with Capcom only saying “Sure, use him”).

Is it any reason that Mega Man fans would feel like they got slapped in the face by Capcom AGAIN?
SemiJuggalo

X was a no-show in Marvel vs. Capcom 3, as well. When ULTIMATE MvC3 came around, they gave Zero an X skin, just so they could troll even further. Also, Street Fighter X Mega Man was a fan-made game that Capcom endorsed, because they literally had NOTHING planned for his 15th anniversary.

Well, they did announce they’re rereleasing all of the old Gameboy & GBColor Megaman games on 3DS Virtual Console next month, and allowing fans to vote on which game gets released first in May.

It’s not much, but at least it’s something, rather then pretend Megaman doesn’t exist.

Also, out of curiosity, what was the April Fool’s joke?

>very little changes between them
Oh ya, like that’s a problem with just BN…
Also Mega Man and Bass doesn’t really count as it was a port of Rockman & Forte, a game before only out in Japan for the Super Famicom.
Captain L

@Prof.NightJack
I don’t count Rockman Online’s cancellation, because Capcom had nothing to do with that, it was all on the developers of that game and their problems.

I was a little mistaken. There were 6 games in 2003. Mega Man and Bass, X7, Zero 2, Network Transmission, and the two versions of BN3 (which count as 2 according to Capcom at the time).

I’d say the problem with Battle Network is how much they tried to do with it. 6 games in quick succession, very little changes between them, and them only being okay games to begin with, from what I’ve played. The only game that year I really liked was Zero 2.

There was also MegeMan Online, and how they gave a bold faced lie for way Legends 3 cancelled.
And when did they ever put out 6 Megaman games a year?
And Battle Network was good anyway, so who cares if they milked the franchise?
