So the “Rainbow Power” thing will be the new manifestation of the Rainbow of Light? That’s interesting.
New headcanon: Silver Shill is Silver Spoon’s… uncle. Yeah, that works.
One thing is remember a line, another trying to remember (and even notice) really minor details like a rainbow shine on random objects.
Just imagine: on the second episode we saw this chest thingy with 6 vertical holes (actually, I don’t even think a kid could even managed to count them).
Then we saw Coco’s thread, then RD’s badge and we made the connection. But, to be honest, it wasn’t quite immediate for someone who follow less than accurately the show.
One kid may ask at some point: “Why do some things shine like rainbows at the end of the episode?” And the non-brony parent may say: “Oh, right, that’s odd, I wonder what that is…”
I think even adults may have issues remembering everything, let alone thinking that a rubber duck should go in a keyhole.
Fair point.
Right. I was only using myself as an example. Though, if I were to include other kids my age at the time then I can say that a good portion of us understood the material just fine. Many of us would even repeat lines clearly and accurately. Which leads into a kid’s ability to remember things despite a slightly shorter attention span of an adult. It is all about how much we enjoy the material and how much of an impact it has on us.
Actually anecdotes and personal experience can be used to great effect in debates. The key is to not rely on them, but use them to buttress your argument.
Never use a personal experience in a debate. Not every kid is like you. Hasbro made the show like this so everyone can understand stand what’s going on even the kids who have short memories and attention spans.
I have to disagree that children can’t follow storylines very well. As a kid, I have always been able to understand a cartoon’s story. Heck, I was able to follow Dragonball Z just fine. And I am referring to the first run of the show before Kai removed all the filler. Now that show is a testament of how long you can keep a kid’s attention.
Maybe we should connect him to Silver Spoon.
To be honest, I’m surprised I haven’t seen that yet.
Male and not exactly cute.
“Work a little differently” is another way to say that they do have troubles.
In the sense that their attention doesn’t span to a 24 episode story arc.
It’s not that they have trouble following a storyline, it’s just that their brains work a little differently. They can follow a story just fine, so long as it’s catered in a certain way as to hold their attention.
Yeah, but they have problems following a storyline, because they’re not experienced enough to focus on important things for the story arc.
That’s why it’s difficult to make a decent show for kids. And many look stupid to us, like Peppa Pig.
I know, I know. This whole debate is based on overthinking it.
But AJ speding her key is good for comedy purposes.
You clearly have no idea how memory, especially in childhood, works then.
Of the target demographic, their memory capabilities should already be comparable to an adults. Most of us here can vividly remember cartoons from our childhood. I can still remember word for word lines from stuff like Ed Edd & Eddy.
Because children have very short memories and literally can’t remember what happened in previous seasons. The cast is taking a risk even making this season a full story arc. Kids probably can’t even follow what’s happening.
Not only the keys are all pretty common objects, which are still not recognized as the keys, but why should they all be objects gathered just in this season?
I mean: why not objects from past experiences?
